PTFE Gaskets

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), known by its Teflon® trademark, is a highly inert synthetic fluoropolymer. It combines extreme hydrophobicity with one of the lowest friction coefficients of any solid material while resisting virtually all industrial chemicals and solvents. To enhance performance under high pressures and elevated temperatures, PTFE gaskets can be reinforced with glass fiber, carbon, or graphite fillers that reduce creep and improve dimensional stability.
