PORON® 4790-92 is an extra-soft, slow-rebound microcellular polyurethane foam designed for very low closure force gasketing and cushioning. Its defining feature is a slow recovery characteristic: under minimal load, the material conforms to mating surfaces rather than pushing back, distributing gentle, sustained contact pressure across the interface. That makes it ideal for protecting delicate components and sealing where almost no clamping force is available. Like all PORON polyurethane, it resists compression set, and its conformable open-cell structure returns to its original shape over time to support long-term sealing performance.

Where a fast-recovering foam pushes back immediately and can over-stress thin or fragile parts, 4790-92 yields slowly and settles into the gap, holding gentle, even pressure without concentrated load points. Fabrication & Custom Options
Every PORON 4790-92 part is fabricated to your specifications. We die-cut and flash-cut to tight tolerances, work directly from your CAD files, or reverse-engineer an existing part when no drawing is available. Material is available as raw sheet stock or as finished, ready-to-install pads and gaskets. Optional PSA backing can be applied for fast, repeatable assembly, and we can supply parts on rolls, in sheets, or as kiss-cut pieces on a liner.
